The most common uses are private: an anniversary message, a long-distance couple who have never been photographed together, a birthday surprise. It cannot make a blurry photo sharp. The model animates the detail that is already in your image, so a soft, low-resolution or heavily compressed face stays soft in the clip. Side profiles are the second big limitation, because the far side of the face has to be invented, and invented faces are the ones that look wrong.

Group photos with three or more people are ambiguous about who is kissing whom, so crop to two faces before uploading. Photos in very different styles, such as a vintage black and white portrait paired with a modern phone selfie, tend to produce a clip that reads as a collage instead of a single scene.
